Description
“Gourdgeous” is an exciting autumn-themed piece of decorative gourds by local artist Joelle Douthit. Bright fall colors of orange, dark green, and yellow pop on a vibrant sky blue.
This hand carved, hand printed piece of art is a jigsaw print (a style of relief printing.) The image was created by carving a soft block of rubber, then cutting apart the separate gourds. Each piece is inked, carefully reassembled back together, and then printed by hand. This particular piece of art also includes hand-applied, sponged color to give the gourds their beautiful patterned look. Because of this, each “Gourdgeous” print is unique.
The print is already matted and attached with a quality, acid-free white matboard and acid-free foam – the same we use in-store – and ready to fit in an 11″ x 14″ frame. Print area is 5 7/8″ x 7 7/8″. This print ships flat.

Joelle Douthit is a local artist working in oils, watercolors, and printmaking. Her work has appeared in local art shows, including the upcoming Suffolk Art League Annual Juried Exhibition.
